DIRECTIONS TO ALPINE VENUES

Big Rock Ski Area (Mars Hill, ME)

 

On I95 North, take Exit 62 for Houlton (Presque Isle/Mars Hill). Take Route 1 north to Mars Hill. From Mars Hill, proceed north on Route 1A  for 1 mile (toward Fort Fairfield). Turn right on Boynton Road and head east 2 miles towards the ski area (visible in front of you). Turn right onto the Country Club Road/East Blaine Road for 500 yards. Turn left on Graves Road, and process to the parking lot and Big Rock Lodge.   Black Mountain (Rumford, ME) 1. Take 95 N to Lewiston/Augusta (tolls). 2. Take the US-202/ME-4/ME-100 exit, exit number 75 (Auburn), towards FARMINGTON/RUMFORD/RANGELEY/MECHANIC FALLS. Go 0.45 miles 3. Keep LEFT at the fork in the ramp. Go 0.04 miles 4. Turn LEFT onto US-202 E. Go 4.73 miles  5. US-202 E becomes ME-4 N. Go 20.21 miles 6. Turn SLIGHT LEFT onto ME-108. Go 16.55 miles  7. Turn RIGHT onto N. MAIN ST. in West Peru. Go 0.38 miles (Across bridge spanning the Androscoggin River)  8. Turn SLIGHT LEFT onto US-2 W. Go 5.03 miles through Mexico.  9. Turn SHARP RIGHT onto ME-120 (Hancock St.) in Rumford. Go 2.01 miles (You will pass Mountain Valley High School)  10. Turn SHARP LEFT onto Isthmus Road. Go 2.4 miles 11. Turn Right onto Glover Road Go 300 feet to Black Mountain of Maine  From Bethel and Points West 1. From Bethel, Maine, go East on US-2 toward Rumford. Go 22 miles  2. At the bottom of Falls Hill, turn sharp left onto Spruce St. by the Food Trend store in Rumford. Go .4 mile 3. Continue straight onto Swain Road. Go 1.8 miles 4. Turn sharp Right onto Isthmus Road. Go 1.9 miles  5. Turn sharp Left onto Glover Road Go 300 feet to Black Mountain of Maine.   Camden Snow Bowl Traveling South on Rte 1, about 1 mile South of the center of town, take a right on John Street, between a Subway and McDuck's Convenience Store. In about 1/2 mile you will come to a 4-Way Stop - go straight. In about 0.1 miles you will come to another stop sign - continue left. In about another 0.2 miles, you will continue straight past Melvin Heights Road which splits to the right. This is Hosmer Pond Road, and it will bring you right by the Snow Bowl, which is located on the North End of Hosmer Pond, a little over 3 miles from Rte. 1. Look for small brown & white signs of a person on a chairlift at intersections along the way. If traveling North on Rte.1 toward Camden, watch for the Subway just beyond the Graves Supermarket complex on the left, turn left on John St. and continue as above. Getting to the Camden Snow Bowl from Route 17. When you come to the intersection of Routes 17 and 90 turn onto Route 90 East. After 1 mile you will come to the intersection of Route 90 and Meadow Street at a stop light. Turn left on Meadow. At the 4-way stop sign turn left on South Main St. South Main Street becomes Willey Rd. At the T-intersection turn left onto Hosmer Pond Road. Hosmer Pond Road brings you to a Y-intersection, stay straight on Barnestown Road. Camden Snow Bowl is on your left just after the Y-intersection.     Eaton Mountain Take I-95 North to exit 133. Turn right onto route 201 toward Skowhegan/Jackman. Turn right onto route 23. Turn left onto route 2 (Main St.). Go 3 miles. Turn left onto Lambert Rd. Eaton Mtn is on Lambert Rd.     Hermon Mountain Turn Right on College Ave(US-2A)  go .1mile Bear Right on College Ave(US-2) go.1mile Continue to follow US-2 go 1.5miles Turn Right on Kelley Rd go 1.1miles Turn Left to take ramp onto I-95 South go 16.7miles Take exit #174/Carmel/Winterport toward Carmel.  Bear Right on Hampden Rd (ME-69) go 1.0mile Turn Right on Hinkley Hill Rd go 1.2miles Turn Left on Newburg Rd  go .9miles Arrive at Hermon Mountain on the Left  From Orono: Start at University PL, Orono going toward College Ave  go .1mile Kents Hill (O'Connor Alpine Center)  From the South: Take Interstate 95 North to Exit 109. Take Route 17 West for 12 miles to Kents Hill School. In Kents Hill, take Route 41 off to the right (Chimney Road). The O'Connor Alpine Training Center is the second driveway on the right and is clearly signposted.     LostValley Take Route 202 into Lewiston. At Third Light, (Main St. and Russel St.) Take a RIGHT. Cross Veterans Memorial Bridge into Auburn. Through Traffic Light(at Center St./Rte. 4)(Keeping Auburn Mall to Right). Through Traffic Light(at Turner St.) Wal-Mart to the left, B.J.'s to the left). Bear LEFT at Fork in the road. Straight through at next Stop Sign, and after sharp bend in road, the Lost Valley Sign, and access road are to the RIGHT at bottom of the hill. DIRECTIONS FROM TURNER, RUMFORD, FARMINGTON: Take Route 4 into Auburn. Take a RIGHT at fifth light (Mt. Auburn Avenue) keeping Auburn Mall to the Right. Through Traffic Light(at Turner St.) Wal-Mart to the left, B.J.'s to the left). Bear LEFT at Fork in the road. Straight through at next Stop Sign, and after sharp bend in road, the Lost Valley Sign, and access road are to the RIGHT at bottom of the hill.      Mount Abram (Locke Mills, ME) From the South - Take the Maine Turnpike to Exit 63 (Formerly 11) at Gray. Go north from Gray on Route 26 for 45 miles. Mt. Abram is on your left in Greenwood/Locke Mills. From the North - Take I95 to Exit 157 (formerly 39) at Newport. Go west on Route 2 through Rumford to Route 232 south. Turn right and travel north on Route 26 to Greenwood. Mt.Abram is on your left. From the West - Take Route 2 east to Route 26 south to Greenwood. Mt. Abram is on your right. From the East - From Augusta, take Route 202 west to Route 133 to Route 219 to Route 26 North to Greenwood. Mt. Abram is on your left.     Saddleback Mountain (Rangeley, ME) DRIVING FROM POINTS SOUTH Take I-95 North to the Maine Turnpike to Exit 75 (formerly exit 12) in Auburn. Take Route 4 North through Farmington to Rangeley. Take Dallas Hill Road (on the right, just before the IGA grocery store) and follow signs to Saddleback.    Shawnee Peak (Bridgton, ME) US Route 302 West for 50 miles. Turn left on to Mountain Road approximately 6 miles past Bridgton (second left after Moose Pond.)     Sugarloaf Mountain (Carrabassett Valley, ME)  From the South (MA/NH) Take I-95 North to Augusta, Exit 112B (formerly 31B) - Follow Route 27 North through Farmington and Kingfield, straight to Sugarloaf. Take the Maine Turnpike (I-95) to Auburn, Exit 75 (formerly 12) - Follow Route 4 North through Farmington - Get on Route 27 North through Kingfield, straight to Sugarloaf. From the East-Calais and Maritimes, Bangor From Calais take Route 9 west to I-395 west to Bangor, to exit 1A onto I-95 south to Exit 157 (formerly 39) at Newport, then Route 2 west to Skowhegan. Get on Route 201 north to Route 148 west through Madison, turn right just after bridge and take Route 201A north to Anson. Then North to North Anson. Take a left onto Route 16 west to North New Portland then take a left continuing onto Route 16 west to Kingfield, then cross the bridge and turn right onto Route 27 north to Sugarloaf.    Sunday River (Bethel, ME) From Bethel, follow Rt. 2 East for 2.6 miles. Take a left onto Sunday River Road, marked by the large Sunday River Brewery (big building with red roof). Follow Sunday River Road to a fork with a "Sunday River Ski Resort" sign. Fork left for the Grand Summit Resort Hotel, base lodges, and amenities (1 mile). Fork right and follow signs for the Jordan Grand Resort Hotel (5 miles).      Titcomb Mountain (Farmington, ME) From routes 2 and 4 East, turn left at Oakes Street immediately after the Palmer Realty sign.. Take a left at the four way stop onto Rt 43 and follow for 3/10ths of a mile. Take a left onto Morrison Hill Road and follow for 6/10 ths of a mile. Look for the Titcomb sign and access road on the left.
